Business Project: Rexotica
Business Development Projects
PowerZest: Wind Energy Solutions
One of the largest projects that I have undertaken based on our patent pending technology: Adaptable Bladeless Disc Wind Turbine. We have developed a unique turbine which is effective while working in low wind conditions. We have accepted an equity investment of INR 2.5 Million (USD35,000) from TIDES Business Incubator and currently being incubated at IIT Roorkee, one of most premium institution in India for research & development. We have recently signed PCT agreement for development and IP protection in United States. We have hired two interns to work on CFD analysis and due diligence with suppliers. Now, as a part of Launch Academy which is MBA level course, I am working on commercialization potential of the technology including business process operationalization, equity investment and go to market strategy formulation along with establishing sales funnel.
Rexotica: Fashion Jewelry
As a part of my second Launch course at OSU, I developed a fashion jewelry brand that made jewelry for the modern professional woman. The story behind the brand was to make jewelry which will depict the love of a woman towards her professional carrier. The designs shown in the image is for a woman who is a mechanical engineer, such design hues from other professions likes medicine, civil, business would be the design mantra for the brand designs. This project was an opportunity to learn the jewelry industry in depth.
Fingerly: Subscription STEM Toys
'fingerly' is a subscription based service that delivers one unique STEM toy each weekend for your young scientist. The subscription fee for one month was $29.99. Traditional STEM toys have a bundle of pieces that you can join and play with, but fingerly makes toys that increase the interaction of the kid with different toy modifications that are included in the kit, thus imparting organic STEM learning.
Technology Commercialization
I have worked with Siliprin which is a 3D Printer manufacturing company as a consultant for technology commercialization. Our team of 4 consulted on formulating a go-to market strategy, competitor analysis and other commercialization channels that can be harnessed for getting early customers. We helped the founder to understand their current market standing and methods to improve visibility. I worked on customer expectation grid, SWOT, PESTEL, Determinant Gap Map, Strategy Canvas, VRIO, MARCOM, Buyer Utility Map and Sales Bridge as a part of the report.
Strategic Management: LEGO
One of the comprehensive MBA level course, Advanced Strategic Management acquainted me with strategic decision making process at multinational corporations with the help of virtual market simulations and several case studies. The project involved formulating strategies for LEGO company in case of deciding whether to open a factory in China considering various international as well as IP related concerns and device a robust plan with market analysis for high priority steps and backup plan using scenario analysis technique.
Engineering Projects
Portable Standing Desk
This project was done in a group of 4 and developed a portable standing desk for active people who wish to carry and set up their desk on the go...This project allowed me to work on anthropological research on consumer behavior, concept generation through morphology, product architecture and bio-inspired design approach, black box & functional modelling and then concept selection using pugh chart, utility based selection and uncertainty analysis, along with production of alpha and beta prototypes. Full report can be viewed by clicking the button below.
Design Of Experiments
The project involved predicting the 'Daily Bus Wait Time' of Corvallis transport system bus on different days of the week and time of the day, made in a group of 3. The project facilitated the learning of identifying response variables, control variables, constant & nuisance factors. Along with this, I gained experience in data modelling, variable interaction identification with plots, data analysis with ANOVA, residual plots, Tukey test and concluding predictions.
Material Selection: Knee Pads
Our team of three designed protective knee pads for the sports and industry professionals to protect them against various injuries that may result from impact shocks. As a part of the project I worked on design objective & constraint selection, selection of appropriate material by constraint equations and material indices. I used CES Edu Pack software for identifying suitable material families using selection lines and material properties. Next, trade off plot were used for the final material selection for the shock absorbing component.
